We will have a busy month in store. We plan to study the sun this month. Take a look at the websites below to learn more. We will keep alive some of the great memories of summer sunshine during summer 2013.
We are preparing songs for our Christmas musical. Take a look at our song page for more information.
Last month we created a comic strip of Fionn and the Salmon of Knowledge. This month we read the story Fionn and the Beggar. We studied a very interesting version of this story. It is called Carl of the Drab Coat. It was written by a Kilkenny man James Stephens. James was born in Blackmill Street. He was an engineer, poet and author and founder of the Fenian movement. Take a look at the story by clicking on the link below.
We studied the sun and then we went on to investigate the properties of light. We discovered that light travels in straight lines. We also discovered that light is made up of seven different colours. We examined on the site below how a process of refraction occurs when light travels through a glass prism. Click on the video below to learn more.
We carried out an experiment to investigate the effect of light travelling through water. We discovered that light bends when travelling through water. This has an effect on how we see objects in water.
The John Lewis Christmas advertisement is so touching enough to melt the hardest heart! We are going to describe the feelings of the hare and the bear. We will also write a script of an imaginary conversation between the two friends.
